Minecom’s DACS600 Collision Avoidance System delivers improved mine safety.  In particular it reduces potential accidents involving personnel, and both light and heavy vehicles.  It does this by improving driver awareness with warning alerts, prompting of potential accidents and even warning of potential blind spots to drivers.

The product utilises proven technology – Minecom’s active Radio Frequency ID (RFID) - to alert drivers the presence of both personnel and vehicles within a set proximity. Vehicles are fitted with the Minecom DACS unit that detects the uniquely coded RFID tags. Personalised tags are mounted to vehicles and personnel, and when activated, each vehicle-mounted, DACS unit searches constantly for RFID tags within the area, with the unit able to differentiate between vehicle tags and personnel tags.

When a tag comes within range of the Minecom DACS, the unit displays a series of flashing LED lights, along with a pulsing audio alarm designed to alert the driver that extreme caution is to be exercised as someone is in the immediate area. Two separate single digit LCD displays can be found on the face of the unit also, indicating the exact number of vehicles and/or personnel it has found. An additional feature is the ability to use a relay output to power an external siren or a flashing light to alert other vehicles or miners, which further reduces the chance of a collision.

Preview Object Detection System

Minecom provide a preview object detection system that helps prevent collisions in vehicle blind spots. Sites enhance their collision avoidance programs by fitting vehicles with a combination of sensors, cameras and monitors. Utilising pulsed time domain radar technology that detects static or moving objects the object detection system provides a greater area of coverage and decreases the likelihood of collisions on site. Built to withstand harsh working environments a Minecom solution can be customised to suit the needs of each site.

Active & Passive Tags

Minecom are able to customise a tagging & tracking system to suit your sites requirements. Utilising RFID technology and individual ID numbers active or passive tags enable all vehicle and personnel to be identified.
